The Ill Affects of Perpetual Adolescence on American Society

Filed under: Education, Family Issues, Uncategorized — mercyseatchurch @ 1:58 am

It is my contention that America breeds perpetual adolescence amongst its people. We are a nation of people that refuses to grow up.

I Corinthians 13:11 states “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

In this text, Paul is referring to a natural phenomenon to make a spiritual application. It is natural to grow up. To become mature. To no longer act and think like a child. To put those things away and embrace responsibility, maturity, manhood, womanhood. And so it should be when it comes to spiritual matters is Paul’s point. In America however, not only is spiritual immaturity a problem, but natural immaturity is a problem.

Though some are beginning to realize and write about the problem of ‘perpetual adolescence’ in American society, few are able to isolate the causes. In this sermon, we look at three great causes for this situation – education, economics, and eradication.

God’s Blueprint for Marriage

Filed under: Family Issues, Marriage — mercyseatchurch @ 2:00 am

Most marriages, including many Christian marriages, are in utter disarray. Marriage in America has become a hologram, it has the appearance of marriage, but it’s a ghost. There’s no content within most marriages today. There’s a husband and father – but he does not know what his function or role is as such; there’s a wife and mother, but she is unsure what her function or role is as such; there’s even children, but there’s few of them – most are interested in killing their own sons or daughters through abortion, or only having one or two like you would a couple of goldfish or hamsters.

This sermon lays out the key to a biblical marriage as seen through our relationship with Christ.

A Refutation of the Debased Theology of a Monstrous Regiment of Christian Feminists

Filed under: Defending the Faith, Family Issues, Mothers — mercyseatchurch @ 3:36 am

Christian Feminism theology has made deep inroads in American Christianity both in the academic and poplular realms.  This sermon takes the exegetical and interpretive work of Christian Feminism theology to task.  This is a no-holds barred sermon which leaves Christian Feminism theology bloodied and lying where it belongs – in the trash heap of heresy.  This sermon covers much Scripture.

An Exhortation on Behalf of the Elderly

Filed under: Family Issues, Uncategorized — mercyseatchurch @ 12:57 am

The elderly tend not to be respected in our culture today. The Statist practice of peer-teaching and wanting the youth to forget the past so as to build a brave new future has made it such. This sermon takes such thinking to task and honors the elderly. The elderly will be encouraged from listening to it, and the youth will have pause to reconsider how they view old people. 43 min.

Being a Man, Death & Enemies – I Kings 2

Filed under: Children, Family Issues, Marriage, Mothers — mercyseatchurch @ 12:55 am

One landmark commitment you make in life is to your spouse when you marry him or her. Family Worship

Filed under: Family Issues, History, Marriage, Worship — mercyseatchurch @ 12:53 am

The message of this sermon is crucial. Over 90% of men do not conduct family worship in their homes. They do not open the Word of God to their wife and children and instruct them in the faith. The number one reason children fall away from the faith and/or Christian homes are in disarray is because family worship is not a part of the home. This sermon shows that family worship is biblical; that it was historically practiced by Christians down through the years; and gives practical guidelines for conducting family worship in your own home. 30 min.

Looking in the Mirror II Cor. 4:17-5:9

Filed under: Family Issues — mercyseatchurch @ 12:47 am

Americans spend billions trying to look young. Our nation worships youthfulness. Rather than accept their estate in life, many elderly people spend their money trying to look younger than they really are. Rather than realizing that their time is running out on earth, they spend their money trying to change their appearance in an attempt to live in denial of the inevitable. This sermon addresses this penchant, and encourages us to understand that more sand in the bottom of the hour-glass should motivate us to live more fully for Christ. 27 min.

Pornography

Filed under: Children, Family Issues, Marriage, Righteousness — mercyseatchurch @ 12:40 am

The Supreme Court case, Miller v. California, opened the floodgates of filth in 1973. Since then, men have been robbed of their manhood as they have drowned themselves in their sinful desires. The majority of men today wrestle with or in bondage to pornography (and a great host of women also). Pornography causes men to forget what their role and duty as men are. This sermon exposes the evil of pornography and gives a game plan to rid it from your life. 43 min.
